Our extensive product line includes grains, beans, spices, canned goods, rice, nuts, and dried fruits —distributed to major retailers and wholesalers across North America.
We’re expanding our reach in Western Canada and seeking a motivated freelance Sales Representative who can help us build and strengthen our customer base across the western provinces.
The Role: As an independent Sales Representative , you will represent Shah Trading Company in your territory, focusing on expanding market presence, growing sales volume, and nurturing long-term customer relationships. This is a commission-only role , ideal for an experienced and entrepreneurial salesperson who thrives on results and values flexibility. Key Responsibilities:Develop new business opportunities with grocery stores, ethnic retailers, food distributors, and wholesalers across Western Canada.
Manage and grow relationships with existing customers to ensure satisfaction and repeat business.
Promote Shah Trading’s diverse product range, highlighting key features, pricing, and promotional offers.
Conduct in-person and virtual sales visits, presentations, and product demonstrations.
Monitor competitor activity and market trends to identify growth opportunities.
Meet or exceed monthly and quarterly sales targets.
Maintain accurate records of sales activity and submit regular updates to the Sales Manager.
Minimum 2 years of B2B sales experience in the grocery, food distribution, or consumer goods industry.
Strong existing relationships with retailers and distributors in Alberta and Western Canada are an asset.
Proven record of meeting or exceeding sales goals.
Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
Self-motivated, entrepreneurial, and able to work independently.
Access to a vehicle and valid driver’s license.
Proficiency in English (verbal and written).
Knowledge of South Asian, Middle Eastern, or ethnic food markets is highly advantageous.
Arabic, Punjabi, or Hindi language skills are an asset.
