Position Description:

Our Nurses at Catalpa Health provide care for outpatient, pediatric psychiatry patients. Nurses work under the supervision of a Registered Nurse.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities:

• Room patients and maintain orderly exam rooms.
• Review and prepare prescriptions for provider signature.
• Order labs and diagnostic testing. Monitors and process results with providers.
• Completes prior authorization paperwork for medication and other services.
• Ensures accuracy of electronic medical record related to patient care.
• Answer incoming patient calls and nursing pool messages. Triage calls and review with appropriate Physician/APNP

Education, Experience and Certification(s):

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Current license as an LPN in the state of WI

Skills and Abilities:

• Superior verbal and written communication skills. Strong interpersonal skills so as to maintain strong, positive relationship with clients and team members.
• Ability to remain calm and reassuring in tense situations and to de-escalate crisis/urgent situations.
• Self-starter with strong multi-tasking abilities.
• Ability and dedication to working as team. Willing to provide support to fellow team members when needed.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office programs. Demonstrated ability to execute tasks in EPIC and related software.
• Thorough understanding of applicable ethical codes and standards.
• Thorough understanding of compliance measures related to HIPAA and patient health information.
