Key Responsibilities Instructional Support: Assist the lead teacher in carrying out STEM learning experiences and other leadership programs. Help prepare, set-up, and clean-up instructional materials, supplies, and resources for program activities. Support students with varying learning needs and abilities. Student Supervision and Safety Assist with maintaining a safe and orderly learning environment at all times. Use positive strategies that promote student engagement and learning. Communication and Collaboration Work collaboratively with lead teachers, program coordinators, and other staff members. Communicate effectively with students using age-appropriate language and positive reinforcement. Report concerns or incidents to appropriate supervisors promptly. Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent required; some college coursework preferred Previous experience working with children in educational, recreational, or childcare settings preferred. Strong communication and interpersonal skills Ability to work effectively as part of a team Patience, flexibility, and enthusiasm for working with various groups of children Must pass background check and meet all state/local requirements for working with minors Physical Requirements Ability to stand, walk, and move around classroom spaces for extended periods Capability to lift and carry materials up to 25 pounds Ability to participate in recreational activities with students Visual and auditory acuity to supervise children effectively Special Instructions to Applicant This is a Federal Work Study (Off-Campus/Community Service) position.
