Responsibilities Gain a thorough understanding of the accounting department as part of succession planning to become the future CFO Train side by side with the CFO, who has decades of experience at the firm and is nearing retirement Assist with the accuracy and productivity of day-to-day activities. Maintain the integrity and accuracy of the firm's general ledger. Accounting knowledge of accounting methods: cash and accruals. Reconcile bank accounts and other accounts. Partner with the CFO and external accounting firm to ensure accurate and timely filing of S-Corp income tax, property tax, and other tax filings Ensure the integrity of accounting processes, systems, and data. Adhere to accounting policies and procedures Ensure accurate and timely reports are provided to stakeholders. Participate in special projects. Assist in preparing annual budget and forecasts. Assist with the books and records of investment partnerships Qualifications BA/BS in Accounting. 5+ years’ accounting experience. CPA highly desired Law firm experience preferred. Thorough understanding of journal entries, accounting principles, financial forecasts, and budgets. Strong technical accounting skills. Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel (pivot tables, macros, etc.) Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
