Job Description
Role Objective: To lead the congregation of Boca Community in authentic, Holy Spirit-driven worship that glorifies God, engages hearts, and connects people of all ages to Jesus Christ. The Worship Leader will cultivate a culture of excellence, collaboration, and spiritual growth within the worship and production teams.
Reports To: Senior Pastor / Executive Pastor
Key Responsibilities:
Service Leadership:
- Plan, lead, and execute worship services that align with the church’s vision and values.
- Utilize the welcome moment strategically to prepare hearts for worship.
- Lead worship nights focused on prayer and scripture without a concert feel.
- Evaluate and introduce new songs thoughtfully, ensuring theological soundness.
Team Development:
- Recruit, train, and mentor musicians and vocalists across the entire campus including Sunday mornings, Student Ministry, school ministries
- Build relationships with team members beyond rehearsals through team-building activities and personal connection.
- Provide clear technical and musical direction to gain respect from the production team.
Spiritual Leadership:
- Foster a Holy Spirit-driven atmosphere during worship.
- Partner with the Senior Pastor and other staff to shepherd the congregation and worship team spiritually.
- Balance performance excellence with pastoral care.
Collaboration and Communication:
- Work closely with the production team to ensure technical excellence.
- Collaborate with the Senior Pastor on worship planning and themes.
- Engage in healthy feedback processes to grow personally and professionally.
Organizational Leadership:
- Manage the worship budget and resources effectively.
- Work to collaborate with all departments of the staff for various services, events, and discipleship opportunities throughout the community.
Qualifications:
- A strong personal relationship with Jesus Christ and a call to ministry.
- Experience in leading worship in a church setting.
- Musical proficiency (vocal and instrumental) and ability to lead with excellence.
- Familiarity with worship technology, including click tracks and tracks.
- Agreement with Boca Community’s Statement of Faith.
- Collaborative spirit and strong relational skills.
