**We have a current opening on our team for a Training and Organizational Development Specialist** Job Title: Training and Organizational Development Specialist Job Type: Non-Exempt, Hourly, Non-Bargaining Unit, Confidential – Location: Santa Barbara, Santa Maria or San Luis Obispo Salary: Starting: $30.59-$34.26 hourly Full Range: $30.59-$48.15 *Pay rate is based on level of experience equivalent to TCRC Benefits: Health insurance Paid time off Dental insurance Vision insurance Life insurance Retirement plan Referral program Flexible spending account Employee assistance program LCSW Supervision hours program Job Summary: Works closely with other members of the Training & OD team and interacts with TCRC Management and Staff and community members in a person centered manner and performs a variety of person centered activities to implement training and development, strategic planning, and survey administration. Must work independently and as part of a team. Coordinate TCRC training and organizational development activities by assessing training and education needs of individuals and teams, administering the Learning Management System, developing and delivering classroom-based and online content, and providing confidential team development opportunities toward strategic objectives. Performs administrative and communications activities to promote training and organizational development events. Demonstrate person centered principles and practices in all work activities. Note: This position’s responsibility includes approximately 50% administrative supports and 50% training and organizational development activities Reports to: Director, Training and Organizational Development Primary Functions: Training: Coordinates and develops training activities including needs assessment, topic identification, speaker identification and acquisition, materials development, site identification, webinar hosting, registration, logistical planning and event Delivers presentations and coordinates the delivery of New Employee Welcome (NEW), Service Coordinator Training (SCT), Service Provider Orientation (SPO), LEAD Academy, new manager training, behavioral interviewing, harassment prevention and sessions based on agency needs and individual interests and Coordinates with subject matter experts to provide coaching and oversight of all forms of training delivery. Administers Learning Management System (LMS) to schedule, promote, register, track and report training activities for staff, board members and service providers, and members of our community. Publishes and maintains a catalogue and calendar of classroom-based and online training events for TCRC staff and service providers through e-newsletter, Tri-Line and website in collaboration with Media & Publications Coordinator. Maintain electronic training attendance records and Continuing Education files and records for employees and other participants in Learning Management Review and track employee training stipend Coordinates TCRC certification procedures to sanction training events for CEU credit for professionals, providers, and staff, including all communications with individuals obtaining credits and maintaining required audit records. Supports development and implementation of training plan for Lead SCs and Managers. Participates in OPS, S&S Manager Meetings, Leadership Team, ARCA Statewide Training and Information Group (STIG) and other committees as assigned. Organizational Development Serves as internal Organization Development consultant, providing education and training to management and staff on strategic and operational opportunities for organizational, team, and individual planning and development to achieve agency goals and objectives. Assist with the administration and analysis of annual, third party studies (including Individual and Family Satisfaction Survey, National Core Indicators) to evaluate TCRC needs. Assists with the development and implementation of the agency Strategic Planning process, including needs assessments that enable planners to address changing social, economic, and political environments. Publish and maintain content for e-newsletter and employee intranet to highlight staff accomplishments and share training events and resources. Write and edit articles, edit photos, upload content. Work on special projects, some of which may support TCRC’s Strategic and Performance Plan as well as Board of Directors’ Gather input from TCRC staff and management and populate information in progress reports as requested. Assist with various mailings, including drafting letters, coordinating with Media Coordinator, Information Systems, and mail house Assist with writing and revising various policies, procedures, plans and processes. Other Performs other duties as assigned. Position requires regular travel in the tri-counties (Ventura, Santa Barbara, and San Luis Obispo counties) and occasional travel in or out of state. Education, Experience, Knowledge, Skills and Ability: Proficiency in MS Word, Excel, Power Point, Internet search tools Project and/or event coordination experience Knowledge of adult learning styles and effective training Willingness to learn and develop proficiency in instructional design, e- learning development, content authoring, and project management Willingness and commitment to learn about the Regional Center system and adopt an understanding of the needs of the individuals served by the Ability to adapt to changing priorities and willingness to support unforeseen Detail and accuracy oriented Analytical thinking Database creation and maintenance Ability to initiate and achieve objectives with minimal direction. Impact/Scope: Ensures that all Organization policies/ procedures conform to State and Federal wage and hour laws, leave laws, ADA, OSHA, EEOC, FEHPC guidelines, unemployment and workers’ compensation regulations. Represents the Organization during legal proceedings and hearings. Recognizes policies, procedures, programs and efficiency of the Human Resources Department have an effect on morale, manpower costs, productivity and Interacts with outside groups as a representative of the Acts as a liaison between employees, the Union, and management. Ability to work collaboratively across the agency using a person centered team approach Excellent oral and written communication skills, including demonstrated ability in facilitating groups and conducting presentations. Valid California driver’s license and reliable, insured vehicle or comparable means of transportation. Physical Requirements: Position requires the ability to work independently. Must possess mobility to work in a standard office setting and use standard office equipment, including a computer. This is primarily a sedentary office classification. The position also requires grasping, repetitive hand movement, finger dexterity and fine coordination in preparing statistical reports and data using a computer keyboard and calculator. Additionally, the position requires near, far, and color vision in reading correspondence, statistical data, and using the computer. Hearing and speech are required to communicate in person, before groups and over the telephone. Employees must possess the ability to lift, carry, push and pull materials and objects necessary to perform job functions. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 10 lbs. and infrequently up to 20 lbs. The position requires standing, walking, reaching, twisting, turning, kneeling, bending, squatting, and stooping in the performance of daily office activities. Work is performed in an office setting with moderate noise levels, controlled temperature conditions and no direct exposure to hazardous physical substances.
