Job Description

Position Overview:

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Test Driver Technician to join our team. The Test Driver Technician will play a crucial role in supporting Client's testing operations by providing specialized driving expertise, instrumentation installation and maintenance, and off-site proving ground support. This role requires excellent mechanical ability, strong communication skills, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities:

* Install and maintain instrumentation for testing purposes.

* Assist in truck setup, test setup execution, and teardown.

* Collaborate with test engineers to execute test plans effectively.

* Provide feedback on test procedures and outcomes.

* Assist engineers with technician/mechanic tasks such as part swapping, cable routing, and sensor installation.

* Conduct off-site travel (25-75%) to support testing operations.

* Utilize strong diagnostic skills and critical thinking to address challenges in real-time.

* Adhere to test plans, prescribed modules, and routes.

* Demonstrate situational awareness and exercise good judgement, especially regarding safety concerns.

* Perform temporary repairs to prevent downtime during testing.

* Familiarize oneself with all vehicle systems and operations.

* Proficiently use computer, tablet, and mobile phone devices for documentation and communication purposes.

* Self-sufficient, takes lead on own tasks and able to work/plan independently.

Job Requirements

* Capacity to manage multiple projects simultaneously with great attention to detail.

* Mechanical background or experience with hand/power tools.

* Knowledge of automated testing tools and instrumentation.

* Background in NVH (Noise, Vibration, and Harshness), Vehicle Dynamics, ADAS (Active Safety).

* Proficiency in composing emails and documenting observed conditions.

* Proficiency in Microsoft 365 products. (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)

* Flexibility to test offsite and travel as needed.

* Positive and professional demeanor.

Education and Experience:

* High school diploma or equivalent required; technical degree preferred.

* Prior experience in a similar role within the automotive or transportation industry is advantageous.

* Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
