We are currently seeking a highly skilled and experienced Tax Attorney to join our dynamic team in the financial or legal industry. This role is specifically designed for individuals with an extensive background in high net worth (HNW) tax law and a passion for providing top-tier services to our clients. The successful candidate will have a deep understanding of the complexities of tax law, specifically in relation to 1040, multi-state tax returns, estate planning, trust administration, and wealth transfer. This is an exciting opportunity to join a fast-paced, innovative environment where you will play a key role in advising and supporting our clients in their financial endeavors.
Responsibilities:
As a Permanent Tax Attorney, you will be responsible for:
1. Providing expert legal advice on a wide range of tax matters, including 1040, multi-state tax returns, estate planning, trust administration, and wealth transfer.
2. Developing and implementing effective tax strategies for high net worth individuals and businesses.
3. Reviewing and preparing complex tax returns and ensuring compliance with all relevant tax laws and regulations.
4. Assisting clients with estate and wealth planning, including the creation and administration of trusts.
5. Representing clients in tax disputes and negotiations with tax authorities.
6. Conducting thorough research and analysis of tax laws and regulations to stay abreast of changes and ensure our clients receive the most current and accurate advice.
7. Collaborating with other team members and departments to ensure a comprehensive approach to client service.
Qualifications:
The ideal candidate for the Permanent Tax Attorney position will possess the following:
1. Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
2. A minimum of 5 years of experience as a tax attorney, specifically working with high net worth individuals.
3. In-depth knowledge of 1040, multi-state tax returns, estate planning, trust administration, and wealth transfer.
4. Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills.
5. Excellent oral and written communication abilities, with the capacity to explain complex tax laws and strategies in a clear and understandable manner.
6. Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to build and maintain relationships with clients and colleagues.
7. Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment.
8. Current and valid license to practice law.
9. Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or Master of Laws (LLM) in Taxation preferred
