Get to Know Your Team: Lovelace Women’s Hospital is a 53-bed advanced neonatal intensive care unit, family care unit, an award-winning breast care center and the first robotic surgery program in the state recognized as a Center of Excellence in Robotic Surgery by Surgical Review Corporation. Responsibilities Demonstrate expert knowledge of sterile techniques, instrumentation, equipment, and sterile field setup including sterilization methods Support physician’s surgical practice in a variety of procedures including a specialty in the operating room Function as a team member in planning for special needs of patients Consistently demonstrate performance in a manner conducive to safe, efficient and swift completion and turnover of a surgical procedure Ensure accurate count of sponges, needles, and instruments used in all procedures at all times Responsible for completing basic OR Tech competencies in addition to departmental specific competencies Take ownership of assignments; other duties as assigned or requested Communicate and listen effectively with internal and external customers; effectively understands instructions and shares knowledge Cooperates and interact with supervisors, peers, other departments, and all customer groups demonstrating our commitment to “service” Qualifications Job Requirements: High School Diploma or GED equivalent Graduate of accredited Surgical Technology program or clinical-based program Six (6) months experience in an operating room or ambulatory surgery unit CPR Preferred Job Requirements: Certified OR Tech 1 year OR experience CORT or CST
