Our team solves tough, meaningful problems that create a safer, more secure world.  This is an exciting opportunity for a highly motivated Senior System Safety Engineer to join us onsite  in Tucson, AZ.  Relocation eligible What You Will Do As a Senior System Safety Engineer, your responsibilities will include:  Developing and implementing one or more MIL-STD-882E compliant system safety programs Performing MIL-STD-882 System Safety Program tasks and analyses, involving management (task series 100), analysis (task series 200), evaluation (task series 300), and verification (task series 400). This includes hardware and software safety related tasks. Collaborating with Program Management and government approval authorities from program startup through production to demilitarization and disposal backgrounds.  Briefing safety considerations at technical reviews and as part of the safety approval process  Interpreting system requirements, customer specifications and military standards  Preparing internal and customer reports describing various analyses relevant to the System Safety program  Collaborating across multiple disciplines to gain a full understanding of product architecture and design  Interfacing with other engineering functions: Systems Engineering, Software or Firmware Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Hardware Engineering  Managing System Safety Working Group(s) between key Raytheon and Customer representatives  Qualifications You Must Have ~ Requires advanced knowledge of work area typically obtained through advanced education combined with experience. May have practical knowledge of project management. Practical to substantial knowledge of RTX projects, programs or systems with the ability to make enhancements and leverage in daily work. ~ Typically requires: A University Degree or equivalent experience and minimum 5 years prior relevant experience, or An Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 3 years experience Engineering/Other Technical Positions: ~ Required Security Clearance -Secret ~"Active and transferable U.S. government issued security clearance is required prior to start date. This includes all production and maintenance employees, as they are essential to the development of our products. The salary range for this role is 82,000 USD - 164,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.
