Job Overview
The Senior Research Fellow/Senior Director, Non-Viral Delivery is a recognized leader in designing, developing, and implementing LNP/VLP non-viral delivery systems for therapeutic applications. The role involves managing scientific functions, leading research groups, and coordinating multiple teams to achieve project goals. The incumbent will set scientific directions, foster interdisciplinary collaboration, and contribute significantly to project advancements.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage research activities across project teams
- Mentor staff in scientific and ethical development
- Align personnel goals with organizational objectives
- Guide and oversee staff activities and development
- Define scientific strategies and promote technological innovation
- Ensure ethical publication and patent activities
- Manage external collaborations and CRO contracts
- Maintain high standards for documentation and communication
- Prepare scientific reports and presentations for stakeholders
Required Skills and Qualifications
- Expertise in non-viral delivery technologies (LNP/VLP) for therapeutics
- Experience in cell and gene therapy development is advantageous
- Strong publication record and scientific productivity
- Leadership qualities and cross-functional integration skills
- Mentorship experience and operational integrity
- Effective communication skills and drug development knowledge
Education and Experience
- Ph.D. in molecular and cell biology or related field
- Minimum 10 years of relevant post-doctoral experience
- Proven track record in developing non-viral delivery systems
Additional Details
Salary range: $227,300 - $341,000. Role is on-site with flexible arrangements. Vertex offers comprehensive benefits, including health, paid time off, educational assistance, and more.
