We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Senior Accountant to join our team in the construction industry. This is a permanent position that offers an exciting opportunity to work in a fast-paced, high-growth environment. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing all aspects of financial accounting and reporting, ensuring compliance with internal policies and procedures, and providing financial analysis and guidance on all activities, plans, targets, and business drivers. This role is integral to the financial health and growth of our company, and as such, requires a professional with a strong background in accounting, excellent analytical skills, and a keen attention to detail.
Responsibilities:
As a Senior Accountant, your key responsibilities will include:
1. Managing the month-end close process, ensuring all financial transactions are recorded accurately and timely.
2. Performing balance sheet reconciliations and maintaining a clean and organized ledger.
3. Preparing accurate and timely financial reports, including income statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements.
4. Analyzing financial data to identify and explain variances.
5. Assisting in the preparation of budgets and financial forecasts.
6. Ensuring compliance with accounting policies, procedures, and controls.
7. Collaborating with external auditors to ensure successful audit results and compliance.
8. Participating in ongoing policy and control environment improvements.
9. Providing financial analysis and guidance on all activities, plans, targets, and business drivers.
Qualifications:
To be successful in this role, you will need:
1. A bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
2. A minimum of 5 years of experience in an accounting role, preferably within the construction industry.
3. Solid understanding of accounting principles and financial reporting.
4. Proficiency in month-end close processes and balance sheet reconciliation.
5. Strong skills in financial reporting and variance analysis.
6. Excellent analytical skills with a strong attention to detail.
7. Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact effectively at all levels within the company.
8. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel, and accounting software.
9. CPA certification is preferred but not required.
