Position Overview: The Second Shift Supervisor is responsible for overseeing all manufacturing operations during the second shift. This role ensures that production goals are met while maintaining high standards of safety, quality, and efficiency. The ideal candidate will have strong leadership skills, a solid understanding of chemical manufacturing processes, and a commitment to fostering a positive and productive work environment.

Responsibilities:

1. Supervision and Leadership:
   • Lead, mentor, and supervise a team of operators and packagers.
   • Ensure proper training and development of shift personnel.
   • Conduct regular performance evaluations and provide constructive feedback.
   • Foster a positive and collaborative work environment.
2. Production Management:
   • Oversee daily manufacturing operations to meet production schedules.
   • Monitor and adjust workflow and resources to optimize efficiency.
   • Ensure compliance with production standards and specifications.
   • Troubleshoot and resolve production issues promptly.
3. Safety and Compliance:
   • Enforce all safety policies and procedures to ensure a safe working environment.
   • Conduct regular safety audits and inspections.
   • Ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements, including OSHA and EPA standards.
   • Promote a culture of safety and continuous improvement.
4. Quality Assurance:
   • Ensure all products meet quality standards and customer specifications.
   • Collaborate with the Quality Control team to address any quality issues.
   • Implement corrective actions to prevent recurrence of quality problems.
5. Reporting and Documentation:
   • Maintain accurate production records and reports.
   • Provide shift reports to the Operations Manager.
   • Document any incidents, accidents, or safety violations.
6. Continuous Improvement:
   • Identify opportunities for process improvements and cost reductions.
   • Participate in 5S manufacturing initiatives and projects.
   • Encourage and facilitate team involvement in continuous improvement activities.

Qualifications:

1. Education and Experience:
   • High school diploma or equivalent required; Bachelor’s degree in a related field preferred.
   • Minimum 3-5 years of supervisory experience in a manufacturing environment, preferably in the chemical industry.
2. Skills and Competencies:
   • Strong leadership and team-building skills.
   • Excellent problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
   • Knowledge of chemical manufacturing processes and equipment.
   • Familiarity with safety and regulatory requirements in the chemical industry.
   • Proficiency in using manufacturing software and Microsoft Office Suite.
   • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
3. Physical Requirements:
   • Ability to stand and walk for extended periods of time.
   • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
   • Willingness to work in a manufacturing environment with exposure to chemicals, noise, and varying temperatures.

  Hours: 1:30 pm to 10:00 pm
