About the Job

We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Registered Nurse (RN) to join the Interventional Radiology department on a contract basis. Located in Des Moines, IA, this position offers the opportunity to work onsite at a premier healthcare facility. You will be part of a dynamic team, ensuring the delivery of top-tier patient care in a fast-paced environment. This contract lasts for three months with a 12-hour shift schedule, three days per week, totaling 36 hours.

What youll be doing:

• Preparing examination rooms and equipment for procedures
• Administering radiopharmaceuticals and monitoring patients for comfort and safety during imaging processes
• Positioning patients and operating radiographic equipment to produce high-quality diagnostic images
• Monitoring video displays, adjusting density and contrast as needed, and documenting scan sequences
• Ensuring patient safety by adhering to radiation exposure protocols and communicating effectively throughout procedures
• Collaborating with Physicians to relay important diagnostic information and updating patient records
• Organizing daily procedure schedules and managing radiographic supplies
• Handling administrative tasks such as scheduling, technical questions, and pre-procedure guidance

Requirements:

• Active RN license and at least 1-3 years of nursing experience in Interventional Radiology
• Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS)
• Compliance with National Institutes of Health (NIH) standards
• U.S. work authorization (Green Card or U.S. Citizenship)
• Excellent organizational and communication skills
