Overview

The American College of Emergency Physicians (ACEP) is the national medical society representing emergency medicine. Through continuing education, research, public education, and advocacy, ACEP advances emergency care on behalf of its 41,000 emergency physician members, and the more than 150 million Americans they treat on an annual basis.

Located in Washington, DC, we offer paid insurance plans (medical, dental, and vision), retirement, flextime, and more. This role is currently based in Washington, DC and is not open to remote applicants; however, a hybrid schedule of in-office work and work-from-home is available upon approval by the manager.

Base pay range

$71,058.00/yr - $88,822.00/yr

This range is provided by ACEP. Your actual pay will be based on your skills and experience talk with your recruiter to learn more.

Location

Location: Washington, DC. This role is based in Washington, DC and is not open to remote applicants; however, a hybrid schedule of in-office work and work-from-home is available upon approval by the manager.

Responsibilities

  • Acts as representation to federal agencies on the behalf of ACEP to make the Colleges views known to policymakers.
  • This role is responsible for, among other duties, drafting policy, formal content letters, and position statements regarding regulatory issues facing emergency medicine.

Qualifications

  • A bachelors degree in political science or related field. A masters degree is preferred; equivalent work experience will be considered in lieu of a formal degree.
  • 1-2 years experience as a policy analyst for a health-related organization or working in a federal agency dealing with health-related issues.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills.
  • Familiarity with healthcare policy issues.
