Reading Improvement Teacher
Location: Eutaw Primary School
Grades: First-Third
Hours: Full Time
Time: 7:40 a.m.-3:15 p.m.


Title: Reading Improvement Teacher

Responsible to: Principal

Qualifications:
1. Education Specialist or Master's Degree in the area of instructional
responsibility.


2. Alabama State Department of Education Certification in the area of
instructional responsibility.

3. Three (3) years successful experience as a classroom teacher.


Duties and Responsibilities:
1. Administer beginning of the year reading placement assessment.


2. Group and provide small group instruction to at risk students.

3. Research, prepare materials, and identify resources for use by the school
and teachers- including strategies, assessment of skills, and interpretation
and use of assessment results.


4. Work with classroom teachers to monitor student progress.

5. Serve as a resource in identifying appropriate interventions to improve
student achievement for students.


6. Participate in collaborative grade level meetings to assist in the analysis and
utilization of assessment data to improve the focus of instructional
planning and student achievement.


7. Meets regularly with the principal to review data.

8. Attend meetings and trainings as directed.


Job Goal: To help students develop proficient skills that will contribute to their
academic growth.


Evaluation: Job performance for tenured personnel will be evaluated by the
immediate supervisor based on Board Policy. Non-tenured personnel will be
evaluated annually.
