Job Description:

NQA QMS Strategy

  • Develop and implement organizational QMS strategy in alignment with operations, accreditation and organization objectives for all products and services.
    • Ensure that strategy addresses needs of all Industry, Accreditation and Customer stakeholders
  • Develop QMS approach strategy that ensures that the implemented of Accredited Certification Services delivers organizational image perception objectives while also meeting industry and accreditation requirements and needs.
  • Maintain awareness of industry Supply Chain & Accreditation risks and challenges to ensure approach, processes and staff are capable of addressing Industry needs with regards to the ‘value of certification’ perspective.
  • Actively maintaining a working knowledge of all specific industry requirements and emerging challenges as well as competitor QMS service approaches
  • Collaborate with Business Unit teams (Technical, Operations, Business) to establish plans for achieving local and international strategic business objectives
  • Collaborate in the development and implementation of the company’s business plan (Group, Division, Corporate)

QMS Leadership and Management

  • Management of ongoing QMS activities
    • Implement and manage auditor performance oversight methods for evaluating competencies (auditors, technical staff, etc.) are compliant with requirements, focus on operational integrity, as well as delivering value added auditing meeting the variety of stakeholder needs.
    • Developing monthly metrics/indicators to measure QMS performance using a wide variety of data sources (Customer feedback, Accreditation Audits, audit records, technical evaluation results, witness audits, etc.)
    • Communicate with Staff regularly on technical/customer/financial/operational issues or QMS improvement needs
  • Develop and implement QMS & Technical Competency plans in alignment with organizational and Auditor Manager’s Strategy
    • Work with Industry Business Units Directors to focus on industry QMS & technical competencies needs
    • Provide technical assistance to Operations/Auditor Manager for the Assessor staff
    • Interact with international NQA divisions on supporting global QMS competency initiatives.
  • Support Operations in Audit Staff onboarding and Improving regarding QMS requirements and improvement needs
  • Operational Integrity
    • Ensuring the integrity of the assessment & technical review/decision processes, with focus on both compliance and effectiveness.
    • Assure QMS & Technical/Audit approach results in customer certification being adequate and maintained.
    • Ensure that all staff are effectively implementing the Systems Manual
  • Collect and manage all staff related QMS documentation needed to ensure compliance with Accreditation rules
  • Ensure All staff are aware of contractual uniqueness that may affect their audit delivery.
  • Organizational Support
    • Support of other operational process needs including conducting audits, key client management, technical reviews (as needed)
    • Work with key customer managers to ensure that customer specific training is applied where applicable
    • Assist with regional sales visits and quotations (as needed)

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Responsible for maintaining the quality system (QMS) of a 3rd party certification body. The QMS is accredited by multiple organizations and is compliant to ISO 9001 and ISO 17021.
  • Main point of contact with the accreditation bodies and coordinate office and witness audit activities
  • Maintaining Quality Policy Manual and Procedures
  • Facilitating internal audits and internal/external Corrective Action Requests.
  • Maintaining readiness for external customer and regulatory audits.
  • Foster the implementation of quality system requirements throughout all groups.
  • Oversee the internal audit program
  • Write and implement procedures to comply with company quality system.
  • Plan, promote, and organize training activities related to quality programs.

Other duties include

  • Maintain Corrective action system and coordinate CAB activities
  • Approve and maintain Auditor competency and training files
  • Facilitating readiness for and execution of external & accreditation body audits.
  • Act as a technical resource for new and existing clients.
  • Responding to corrective action requests from external and accreditation body audits
  • Assist in program quality efforts
  • Compiling quality metrics
  • Assist the organization in continual improvement projects
  • Facilitating and resolving customer appeals
  • Conduct new hire quality and continuing auditor training
  • Conduct audits in applicable standards
  • Support operational file reviews

Requirements:

  • Ability to multi-task and work independently with minimal supervision
  • Self-Starter, well organized and detail oriented
  • A Bachelor Degree or equivalent experience
  • Exemplar Global or IAQG Auditor Certification preferred

Physical Requirements:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally required to stand; walk; sit; climb stairs; balance; stoop; kneel; crouch or crawl; talk or hear; taste or smell. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus.
