Public Health Administrator

Location: Nashville, TN

Position: Contractual Onsite

Duration: 8 Months

Hours Per Week: 40 Hours

Shift: 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM

Job Summary:

Under general supervision, the Public Health Administrator is responsible for managing administrative tasks related to regulatory boards and the licensing processes for public health professionals. This position ensures compliance with policies, procedures, and laws while handling moderately complex regulatory activities. The Administrator reviews, evaluates, and processes licensure applications, certifications, and permits, ensuring accuracy and eligibility. Key Responsibilities:

  • Review licensure applications, permits, and certifications for completeness, accuracy, and compliance with eligibility requirements, policies, procedures, and laws.
  • Make recommendations on application approval or rejection and submit them to a supervisor for final approval.
  • Evaluate requests for reciprocity and renewals in accordance with relevant regulations.
  • Issue licenses, certificates, and registrations for professionals within public health fields.
  • Make determinations based on policy, regulations, and statutes.
  • Enter, update, and maintain accurate licensing information in databases.
  • Match payments to the appropriate records and manage payment processing, including refunds and returned checks.
  • Prepare and submit reports related to licensing, payment, and other administrative processes.
  • Respond to public inquiries regarding licensure policies, examination results, and procedures.
  • Communicate with applicants, regulatory boards, and the public to provide information and resolve issues.
  • Handle complaints and clarify relevant laws and policies.
  • Monitor the status of case investigations and ensure that public health professionals meet regulatory standards.
  • Assist in ensuring the implementation of mandates and regulatory pronouncements.

Qualifications:

  • Strong knowledge of public health regulations, licensing procedures, and relevant laws.
  • Proficiency in data entry and management systems.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to solve problems and make decisions in compliance with regulatory standards.
  • Experience in coordinating administrative tasks, including meetings and examinations.
