Due to the growth of our business, we have an opening for a Transformer Assembler to join our team. The Transformer Assembly Technician winds and assembles components as per company specifications, including wiring of electrical components such as relays, circuit breakers, transformers, and sub-assemblies.

Responsibilities and Duties:

  • Assemble and fit metal and other prefabricated parts to close tolerances according to blueprints to build transformers.
  • Make electrical connections using crimping, soldering, and welding devices.
  • Assemble and adjust production machinery and equipment, such as coil winding machines for transformers.
  • Perform basic tests on electric motors, as required.
  • Plan and implement solutions to mechanical problems with Supervisor’s help.
  • Collaborate with other departments.
  • Collect, record, and summarize inspection results.
  • Maintain a safe, clean and organized work area.
  • Maintain a consistent, acceptable level of quality and productivity.
  • Use the overhead crane to transport transformers around the department.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

  • High School diploma or equivalent.
  • Minimum two years’ experience in manufacturing or Transformer.
  • Experience in Transformer assembly (Preferred)
  • Ability to communicate in English (spoken, read/write)
  • Ability to read and interpret work instructions, and blueprints.
  • Ability to read drawings and understand 2D & 3D sketches.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal technical direction and supervision.
  • Ability to complete repetitive tasks, with good hand-eye co-ordination.
  • Manual dexterity, work from heights and ability to stand for extended periods.
  • Must be flexible to work in Day and Afternoon shift.
  • General use of hand and power tools.
  • Climb ladders, bend, stoop, kneel, and lift minimal to heavy materials.
  • Forklift and/or overhead crane operation experience is an asset.

Working Hours

  • Day Shift: Monday to Friday 7am – 4 pm

  • Afternoon Shift: Monday to Thursday 3:30 pm-2:30 am

Salary: $24.33-$29.79

Location: Maple, Vaughan, Ontario
