Job Description
Production Management
· Responsible for leading sheeting operations to achieve scheduled performance, at optimum costs and within established quality expectations.
· Lead employees, supervisors ensuring staffing is appropriate to manage workload and over-time.
· Clearly communicate and maintain Tahoe Paperboard procedures, quality controls and standards.
· Continually monitor quality controls and product quality. Instruct employees how to maintain consistent quality standards.
· Review operating data and investigate deviations from expected performance.
· Develop and monitor key production metrics through individual and team accountability.
· Fairly, consistently & respectfully administer all plant and company polices and procedures.
· At a minimum, spend 75% of time on the floor: On machines and/or leading, directing, and engaging employees.
Employee Leadership
· Train, coach and motivate employees to work safely and productively.
· Create a positive, respectful, and accountable work environment.
· Identify skill gaps and development opportunities. Direct and initiate training programs to ensure continual development. Facilitate cross training and development plans for each employee.
· Lead with sincere appreciation, respect and a commitment to the safety and well-being of all employees.
Cost Management /Housekeeping
· Develop annual department budget and ensure budget adherence.
· Material requirements planning and purchasing.
· Lead inventory management.
· Lead and drive savings initiatives.
· Manage vendor claims and mutually satisfactory outcomes.
· Direct employees in adjusting machines and equipment to repair products which fail to meet standards.
· Comply with all OSHA, EPA, SQF, and BAAQMD regulations.

Job Knowledge and Skills
· Bachelor’s degree in related field and /or seven to ten years of paperboard packaging experience or equivalent combination of education and experience.
· Five plus years of supervisory experience required.
· Strong people skills with an employee relations background.
· Excellent follow-through and planning capability.
· Demonstrated history in achieving results while building teams and culture.
· Data driven approach to problem solving and decision making.
· Strong written and verbal communication skills.
· Must communicate effectively across all departments.
· Excellent communicator who can understand and deliver information clearly and concisely.
· Competent in Microsoft Office Word; Excel.
Disposition Skills
· Strong work ethic and deep knowledge of paperboard packaging operations.
· Demonstrated ability to deliver consistent results while building capabilities and culture.
· Communication: Actively listens and demonstrates strong people skills.
· Initiative-taker, gets involved quickly, takes on challenges with enthusiasm.
