FTE .5 Recruitment Range $15.00 - $18.00 per hour Anticipated Hiring Range $15.00 - $18.00 per hour Number of vacancies 45 Position SHSA20 FLSA Status Non-Exempt Months per year 11 Work Schedule e.g. 8-500 20 hours/week, flexible schedule Work Schedule Type Rotating Shift Primary Purpose of Organization Unit Performing Arts Primary Purpose of Position Performing Arts Technical Staff Job Description The Givens Performing Arts Center at UNC Pembroke is seeking multiple part-time temporaries to assist with technical support for 2024. These duties include, but are not limited to the following: Set-up of computers, network, video, sound and light production before shows. Spotlight operation during shows. Break down sets, including computers, network, video, sound and light equipment after shows. Communication with and between production crew is essential when a component goes down and must be fixed quickly to ensure that the show continues without a noticeable problem. Keen vigilance and problem-solving skills will be required during during a production. Load and unload trucks before and after shows which requires the ability to lift at least 50 pounds. Construct and break down set pieces, risers, musical equipment, furniture, road cases, miscellaneous equipment. The ability to lift and carry heavy objects will be required. Management Preference Prior experience working with lights, audio/visual equipment, computers, and/or performing arts technical operations.
