Our healthcare client is looking for a talented Orthopedic Technician to add to their team. This position operates onsite in San Diego, CA.
Responsibilities:
Appropriately fit patients with braces, both off the shelf and custom braces
Instruct patients in proper fitting and usage of DME products
Apply and remove casts and splints
Instruct patient in proper cast care
Review new / proposed braces for applicability to patient population and make meaningful recommendations to Physicians
Maintain adequate inventory levels to accommodate usage
Audit all DME invoices for accuracy
Negotiate product pricing with vendors
Obtain insurance authorization to dispense products as necessary
Stay abreast of insurance company protocols for authorizations and dispensing
Assist medical assistants with their duties, as needed
Qualifications:
Minimum of 2 years of experience in a fast paced Orthopedic environment
Ability to handle the demands of multiple providers
Current CA state license
