We are seeking a highly skilled Nursing Student to join our team at St. Mary's Regional Medical Center! This role offers the opportunity to work with diverse patient populations, providing exceptional care. 

St. Mary’s is a 229-bed, acute care hospital located in Enid, OK.  St. Mary’s Regional Medical Center has served the healthcare needs of northwest Oklahoma for more than 100 years.  We host more than 125 highly skilled physicians offering specialties in Cardiology, Neurology, Orthopedics, Emergency Medicine, Rehabilitation, Laboratory, Women’s Imaging, Wound Care, and more.

Position Summary:

• After completion of competency, the Nurse Tech will work under the supervision of registered nurses to provide direct patient care, assist with clinical procedures, and maintain a clean and organized healthcare environment. This person will have excellent communication skills, attention to detail, and a strong desire to contribute to the well-being of patients. A Registered Nurse is directly responsible at all times for the Nurse Technician,who is functioning as an unlicensed person with a defined job description. The RN must be physically present in the institution, not, however, providing direct supervision for every activity.
• The Nurse Tech is allowed to perform all duties of a nursing assistant as well as other technical skills which have been learned in a nursing education program and for which competency has been previously demonstrated under the supervision of a faculty member. 

Job Duties/Responsibilities:

• Demonstrates competence in assembling and operating equipment for patient care under the supervision of an RN.
• Keeps appropriate people aware of pertinent changes or problems in patient condition.
• Participates in planned education for the patient per Patient/Family Education policy with consideration of developmental differences.
• Reports variances according to risk management processes of UHS.

• Required Current Students:  current enrollment in and successful completion of the first semester of an accredited Nursing Program or
• Graduate: Has completed a program of registered nursing from an accredited organization and:
  • Authorization to Test (ATT) is required to be submitted to St. Mary’s Human

    Resources upon receipt and licensure exam must be taken within the first 90

    days after graduation.

  • Upon graduation, a Nurse Tech may continue to be employed in a Nurse Tech

    role provided that the first licensure exam is taken within 90 days after

    graduation and passed within six (6) months of graduation on either the first

    or second attempt.

• BLS required.  
• Must successfully complete the pre-employment assessment.
• Must demonstrate each task before performing independently. Basic computer skills required.
