Middle School 6-8 Social Studies Teacher: i3 Academy Middle School is seeking a passionate and dedicated Middle School Social Studies Teacher to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will inspire students to engage with history, geography, economics, and civics while developing critical thinking, collaboration, and communication skills. The teacher will create an inclusive and engaging learning environment that caters to diverse learners and fosters curiosity about the world.
Key Responsibilities: - Plan and deliver engaging, standards-based lessons in social studies that are aligned with curriculum goals and state standards.
- Develop and implement differentiated instruction to meet the varied learning needs of students, including those with Individualized Education Programs (IEPs).
- Use various instructional strategies to engage students, including project-based learning, discussions, group work, and technology integration.
- Assess and track student progress using a variety of formative and summative assessments, providing timely feedback and adapting instruction as needed.
- Foster a positive classroom environment that encourages respect, collaboration, and responsibility.
- Create opportunities for students to make connections between historical content and current events, promoting civic engagement and global awareness.
- Collaborate with fellow teachers, administrators, and support staff to ensure the success of all students, including participating in professional development and curriculum planning sessions.
- Maintain effective communication with students, parents, and guardians, providing updates on student progress and strategies for academic success.
- Support and implement school-wide initiatives that align with the vision and goals of i3 Academy Middle School.
- Adhere to school policies and procedures, including maintaining accurate records and attending meetings as required.
Qualifications: - Bachelor's degree in Education, Social Studies, History, or a related field.
- Valid teaching certification in Social Studies (appropriate grade levels).
- Experience working with middle school students, with a strong understanding of adolescent development.
- Ability to differentiate instruction and provide accommodations for diverse learners, including students with IEPs.
- Strong classroom management skills and the ability to build positive relationships with students.
- Excellent communication, collaboration, and organizational skills.
- A passion for teaching and a commitment to student success.
- Experience with technology integration in the classroom.
- Familiarity with culturally responsive teaching practices.
- Previous experience with project-based learning or inquiry-based instruction.
