McGregor Foundation Finance Summer 2025 Intern

Position : Temporary, part-time; 10-week period during May – September 2025 window.

Three days / week (preferred Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday) from 9 a.m. - 5 p.m.

Wage : $18/hour

Summary:

The Finance Intern will provide support to the Business Office team, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, health plan management, analytics, and resident fund management. Located on-site in-person at McGregor’s East Cleveland campus, the Intern role is designed to expose and challenge junior or senior level students pursuing a degree in accounting, finance, or a related field to all facets of integrated health care organization serving aging seniors.

Responsibilities and Expected Outcomes: In collaboration with staff:

  • Assist with accounts payable activities
  • Assist with accounts receivable activities
  • Review account analyses
  • Reconcile resident fund accounts and other bank accounts
  • Assist with claims analysis for the PACE health plan
  • Identify and assist with identifying efficiencies and opportunities for improvement within the department
  • Attend LeadingAge Summer Enrichment Program events

Requirements:

  • Currently a sophomore or junior pursuing a bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, or related field.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Excellent computer skills, ideally with financial accounting software packages.
  • Analytical thinking skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, including verbal and written communication.
  • Ability and confidence to interact with staff at all levels and external constituents.

Preferred candidates will have strong academic credentials, are involved in student or community service activities, familiar with technology, and have strong presentation and writing skills.
