Job Description

A machine operator is responsible for setting up, operating, and maintaining machinery used in the manufacturing process. Machine operators work both individually and as part of a team, delivering consistent work and reporting accurate information on a timely basis. To be successful in this position, the individual must produce timely and high-quality output within the company quality and production run standards. Individuals must display a standard level of productivity and quality output and be committed to continuous improvement.

Responsibilities

• Prepare machinery for operation by performing routine maintenance tasks and conducting safety checks to ensure that the equipment is in good working condition.
• Set up and operate production machines in accordance with established procedures and guidelines.
• Monitor machines during operation to ensure that they are producing products that meet quality standards.
• Conduct regular in-process inspections to ensure quality control standards.
• Troubleshoot equipment and make necessary adjustments to fix any issues that arise during the production process.
• Record data such as production numbers, machine settings, and product quality data.
• Follow safety protocols and adhere to the proper use of PPE to ensure a safe working environment for themselves and other employees.
• Consistently meet production requirements.
• Continuously work in a safe manner and maintain a safe and clean work area.
• Follow company rules and participate in cross-training and other training requirements.

Essential Skills

• Production and machine operating experience
• Basic computer skills to enter activities in ERP system
• Mechanically inclined
• Inspection and machine operation skills
• Ability to speak and read English effectively
• Ability to read and interpret gauges and record measurements
• Ability to read and interpret safety rules, MSDS, operating and maintenance instructions, and relevant manuals
• Ability to stand for an 8–10-hour shift
• Good verbal and written communication skills
• Strong time management capabilities

Work Environment

The work environment is within a clean and modern facility, focusing on the manufacturing of advanced Power Transmission Lines. Employees are expected to adhere to safety protocols and use proper PPE. Shifts are 8-10 hours long with standing required for the duration.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Huntington Beach, California.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $23.00 - $24.00/hr.
