The Nurse plays a key role in delivering safe, compassionate, and effective care within our Substance Abuse Treatment Clinic. This position supports patients receiving opioid treatment, medication management, and behavioral health services, working closely with the Nurse Practitioner, Medical Director, Clinical Director, and other clinical team members. The Nurse ensures proper medication administration, monitors patient health, and supports treatment goals in both intensive outpatient (IOP) and outpatient settings.

Key Responsibilities:

Patient Care & Medication Services:

• Administer medications, including opioid treatment medications (e.g., methadone, buprenorphine), in accordance with federal and state regulations.
• Monitor patients for side effects, withdrawal symptoms, and response to treatment.
• Conduct vital signs checks, health screenings, and basic assessments.
• Provide health education to patients regarding medication safety, adherence, and overall wellness.

Clinical Support:

• Collaborate with the Nurse Practitioner, Medical Director, and Clinical Director to support patient treatment plans.
• Assist in crisis situations, ensuring patient safety and de-escalation when needed.
• Document patient care, medication administration, and progress notes in compliance with regulatory standards.
• Maintain accurate records and secure handling of controlled substances in alignment with DEA, SAMSHA, and state requirements.

Team Collaboration:

• Work closely with counselors, intake coordinator, and program staff to support a holistic approach to treatment.
• Participate in multidisciplinary case reviews and staff meetings.
• Provide guidance and support to patients as they engage in counseling, group therapy, and IOP/outpatient services.

Compliance & Professional Standards:

• Follow infection control protocols, safety guideline, and ethical nursing standards.
• Assist with audits, inspections, and compliance monitoring as directed by leadership.
• Stay current on best practices in substance use disorder treatment and nursing care.

Qualifications:

• Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN)
• Prior experience in substance abuse treatment, behavioral health, or related healthcare setting strongly preferred.
• Knowledge of medication-assisted treatment (MAT) protocols and opioid treatment programs a plus.
• Strong interpersonal, communication, and crisis management skills.
• Commitment to patient-centered, compassionate care.

Reports To:

• Nurse Practitioner and/or Medical Director.
• Clinical Director (for clinical coordination).

Collaborates With:

• Counselors, Intake Coordinator, Front Desk Administrator, Program Manager, Program Director, and Corporate office staff.
