Position Summary:
The Level II Technician/RSO is responsible for performing various methods of NDT/NDE in the methods they are certified, detailing examination findings in report format, interfacing with the customer representative(s), and acting as the office Radiation Safety Officer. Emphasis is placed on quality of the work product and the efficiency of work execution. Must be able to provide prior certification.
Responsibilities:
- Level II Technician
- Actively participate in Company and Client safety programs
- Demonstrated ability to effectively perform assigned NDT/NDE tasks, in which they are certified, and interpret results of inspections
- Set up and utilize various equipment
- Ensuring strict adherence to industrial safety and health guidelines and our radiation safety program and regulations
- Organize and report test results
- Fill out inspection reports, JSA’s and documentation daily as required
- Perform other job-related tasks as assigned by management
- Adhere to the Company Code of Conduct
- Complete timecards and reports daily

- Provide resources to ensure we use appropriate safety equipment, carry out radiation safety training where required, and to conduct radiation safety audits on a regular basis.
- Ensure compliance with Radiation Safety and environmental programs. Ensure compliance has been achieved and maintained relative to DOT and IATA regulations.
- Audit on-the-job radiation safety performance.
- Ensure compliance and corrective actions when required are implemented.
- Monitor radiographic operations and the use of all procedures in the specific area of responsibility through audits, inspections, and other oversight techniques.
- Provides training and guidance in the adherence of the radiation safety program in the local office.
- Hands on training for 40-hour Rad. Safety for A/R’s.
- Shipping & handling of sources and source retrieval.
- Quarterly inspection of cranks and guide tube quarterly, cranks to be sent out annually.
- Calibration of the Dosimetry and survey meters.
- Manage RSO duties for one office.
- Responsible for yearly state RT audit.

- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Level II Technician
- Certified Level II in RT, MT, PT, and VT
- Industrial Radiography Radiation Safety Program (IRRSP) or agreement state card
- Knowledge of field NDT/NDE equipment
- Basic computer skills
- Knowledge in application and compliance requirements of regulatory codes (OSHA, EPA, etc.) and industry standards and recommended practices (API, ASME, AWS, etc.) is preferred
- RSO
- Must be familiar with the applicable License(s), the Operating and Emergency Manual (ROEM), NRC and applicable State Regulations, and with appropriate sections of 49 CFR Transportation.
- Two (2) years full time Radiographer
- Must have received training in source retrieval and equipment maintenance
- Must have received training on establishing and maintaining a Radiation Protection Program.
- Demonstrated experience as a leader.
Working Conditions:
- Moving, carrying and lifting objects in excess of 75 pounds
- Climbing and working off of ladders, stairs and scaffolding in excess of 100 feet continuously throughout shift
- Be able to climb ladders and platforms up to 250 feet with a harness and lanyard
- Be able to step up into vehicles or onto equipment
- Working extended hours and standing for extended periods of time
- Working in indoor and outdoor environments in conditions of extreme heat and cold
- Work in and near industrial hazards
- Must be able to work weekends and overtime as needed
