POSITION SUMMARY
Responsible, as the first-line operational supervisor, for training and leading team members in consistently delivering an exceptional guest experience, including ensuring great tasting/quality food, executing on 20/20 guest expectations, and ensuring compliance with all Jack in the Box procedures, systems and standards.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Guest Expectations – Model, train and coach team members in guest service standards (listening, saying sorry, making it right) and JIB Smart Selling.
Neat & Well‑Groomed – Hold team accountable to uniform and grooming standards; coach non‑compliance.
Friendly – Model and coach positive, friendly attitude and JIB Hospitality Model.
Well‑Staffed – Maintain restaurant cleanliness, assist with order taking and cashiering during busy times, ensure staffing ready to serve guests, adhere to policies on hours, breaks, timekeeping.
Food Tastes Great – Monitor quality, model presentation, coach to meet taste, appearance and temperature standards.
Consistent & Quick Service – Model urgency, coach team on fast service, assist with order taking, cashiering.
Order Accuracy – Model clear communication, audit orders, follow-up on errors, retrain as needed.
Food Safety – Follow food safety policies, hand washing, glove procedures, complete Food Safety Checklist each shift.
Brand Ambassador – Passion for Jack in the Box, inspire team, represent brand proudly.
Focus on the Guest – Treat guests & employees with care, anticipate needs, handle complaints, make guests number one priority.
Team Skills – Treat employees with respect, lead, maintain positive environment, coordinate floor resources.
Commitment – Thrive in fast‑paced environment, maintain clean restaurant, resolve issues, adapt to needs, use systems, handle cash, follow policies.
Front of Restaurant duties – Guest service (dine‑in/drive‑thru), interior and exterior cleaning, order taking, cashiering, cleanliness, stock, etc.
Supervisor duties – Train workstation operations, ensure procedures compliance, maintain guest experience, lead, onboard, recognize, manage uniforms, report issues.
Back of Restaurant duties – Grill, assembly, prep, fryer, interior, exterior, receiving & storage, maintaining equipment, food safety.
QUALIFICATIONS
Experience
6 consecutive months JIB experience and 100% certified in all workstations for internal promotion, or 1‑year supervisory experience in a restaurant or retail customer service environment.
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities
At least 18 years old.
Complete Team Leader training classes; ServSafe certified (state dependent).
Proficient English speaking, reading, writing; may need additional language based on location.
Excellent interpersonal skills, basic math, analytical skills, organization, planning, integrity.
Basic PC and software proficiency.
Physical Requirements
Stand and walk 90–95% of shift, lift 15–25 lbs, operate cash register, read video monitors.
