Position Title: Restaurant Manager Job Code: RORM20 Reports To: District Manager Exemption Status: Exempt Department: Restaurant Field Operations Position Summary Responsible for managing the overall operations of a Jack in the Box unit. Uses discretion in daily management decisions with accountability for ensuring effective execution of the Service Profit Chain (SPC) and Brand Promise. Develops a team that provides excellent internal and external service, builds restaurant sales, and maximizes profit while ensuring compliance with policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements. Key Duties & Responsibilities Internal Service: Recruits, selects, trains, develops, and evaluates restaurant employees. Monitors staffing levels and ensures training systems are fully implemented. Identifies and develops internal candidates for management and Team Leader positions. Creates an employee-friendly, fun, clean, and safe environment and motivates employees to achieve high performance. External Service: Manages daily activities to achieve operational excellence. Ensures guests receive exceptional service and quality food, responds to guest concerns promptly, and maintains brand image standards. Sales & Profits: Utilizes management information tools to analyze operational/financial performance each period. Implements action plans to increase sales and profitability in line with the SPC. Monitors costs, budget adherence, and restaurant goals. Selection Skills & Qualities Demonstrates passion for the business, integrity, and ethical standards. Serves as a strong role model, coaching, and developing employees for promotion. Focuses on providing high‑quality guest experience and adept guest service skills. Maintains strong food quality, safety, and restaurant cleanliness awareness. Adapts to changing demands, prioritizes, delegates, and makes high‑quality decisions. Performs other related duties as required. Qualifications Education: High School Diploma, G.E.D., or equivalent required; Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree preferred. Experience: Minimum 1+ years as an Associate Manager and/or 2 years as a First Assistant Manager with full certification in all workstations (internal promote) or minimum 3 years managing a service concept with full P&L responsibility (external recruit). Knowledge & Skills: 18+ years old, must complete Restaurant Manager training, ServSafe certified, proficient in English communication, basic math, analytical skills, organization, planning, and computer use. Valid driver’s license, insurance, and ownership of a personal vehicle for bank deposits and travel. Physical Requirements: Ability to stand and walk 85‑95% of shift, lift 10‑65 lbs, move freely in restaurant, operate equipment, drive vehicle, and use computer keyboard.
