Position Summary Responsible for managing restaurant operations, in conjunction with or in the absence of the Restaurant Manager. Uses discretion in daily management decisions with accountability for ensuring effective execution of the Service Profit Chain (SPC) and Brand Promise. Primary responsibilities are to provide excellent internal and external service, build restaurant sales and profit while ensuring compliance with policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements. Key Duties/Responsibilities Internal Service: Recruit, select, train, develop, and evaluate restaurant employees. Monitor staffing levels, implement training systems, develop internal candidates for management, create a friendly, fun, clean, and safe environment, treat employees with respect, motivate and inspire high performance, and recognize and reward appropriately. External Service: Manage daily activities to achieve excellence in operations. Ensure guests receive an exceptional experience, train employees on guest service and food quality, monitor adherence to systems and safety requirements, respond to guest concerns promptly, maintain brand image, and serve as a role model for excellent service. Higher Profits: Partner with the Restaurant Manager to analyze operational and financial performance, identify trends, consult on action plans, increase sales and profitability through the Service Profit Chain, monitor costs, and protect the brand. Qualifications Education – High School Diploma, G.E.D., or equivalent required; Associate's or Bachelor's degree preferred. Experience – Minimum 1 year experience as Shift Leader or Assistant Manager in a customer service environment (Internal Promote) and/or 3 years experience as Assistant Manager with some P&L responsibility (External Recruit). Must be 100% certified in all workstations. Knowledge/Skills/Abilities – At least 18 years old, complete Assistant Manager training, ServSafe certified. Ability to speak, read, write English; interpersonal skills; basic math; analytical and organizational skills; self‑starter; computer proficiency; valid driver’s license and insurance; ethical behavior. Physical Requirements – Stand and walk 85–95% of shift, lift 10–65 lbs, move freely throughout restaurant, operate equipment and drive motor vehicle, use computer keyboard.
