Onyx Design Collective is a young design firm that is devoted to smart, innovative, and one of a kind architectural projects. At this time we are looking for a full time Interior Designer. We desire a detailed and motivated individual who is able to assist in the design, detailing, and oversight of multiple residential and commercial projects. You will work directly with the Design Principal, contractors, and clients, and will play a lead role in design and development of projects. You will also assist in all aspects of the production of construction drawings. These tasks include completing red lines, developing plans, interior elevations, finish schedules, fixture schedules as well as furniture, fixture, and color selections. Compensation will depend on experience.

Position Summary:

Provides assistance throughout the building design process, including programming, preparation of design and construction documents, presentation materials, schematic design, design development and contract documents, model building, renderings and construction administration activities office guidance.

Job Description:

• Provides design support to project team members, including drawing plans, elevations and details, reflected ceiling plans, millwork design, furniture layouts, ergonomic dimensions, finish plans, color plans and schedules.
• Ability to apply basic elements and principles of design including form, scale, color, texture, pattern, light, balance and proportion.
• Assists in the preparation of presentation materials, color and materials boards, for client presentations.
• Adheres to firm and project goals of excellence in design, execution, and sustainability.
• Assists with information gathering relative to programming analysis, space plans and area calculations.
• Assists in preparation of interior construction contract documents, including plans, details, sections and schedules.
• Assists with color/finish/material and furniture specifications research and selection.
• Works with Design Principle, clients, design team, and contractors.
• Oversees the interior design for the firm.
• Organizes and plans accordingly to execute tasks.
• Self-checks work for accuracy, omissions and legibility.

Location:

• Kaysville Office/ Hybrid ok but must be able to visit office and sites located throughout Northern Utah.

Education Requirements:

• Professional Degree in Interior Design or related discipline preferred.

Experience Requirements:

• 3-5 years min.
• Basic understanding of interior design theory, applications and construction documentation production.
• Knowledge of CAD, Revit, SketchUp.
• Effective verbal and written communication skills.
• Collaborative and professional work ethic.
• Background in high end/custom homes, restaurants, multifamily, civic, and office spaces.
