Job Description

Local steel shop seeking experienced Industrial Maintenance Technicians.

Must be able to perform various maintenance tasks in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

 

Duties:

• Troubleshoots and locates source of problems by observing mechanical devices in operation
• Trains production workers on routine preventive maintenance
• Determines changes in requirements of parts by inspecting and measuring various instruments.
• Maintains inventories of equipment parts and supplies.
• Installs, repairs, and maintains machinery and mechanical equipment
• Fabricates repair parts by using machine ship instrumentation and equipment
• Provides mechanical maintenance information by answering questions and requests.
• Prepares maintenance reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information and trends.
• Maintains a safe and clean work environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations.
• Requisitions supplies and materials needed for repairs and maintenance.

Preferred Skills and Minimum Requirements:

• High School Diploma or equivalent
• One to Three years’ experience and/or formal training, preferred
• Able to lift a minimum of 60 pounds
• Able to climb, bend, crawl, stand for prolonged periods
• Demonstrated abilities to perform all aspects of position
• 5+ years of related industrial mechanical and electrical experience required
• Must be computer literate/tech savvy
• Must have a valid driver’s license and proof of insurance

Other Requirements:

• Experienced with the use of hand tools such as digital and analog voltmeter, ammeter, and basic shop tools, welding.
• Experience diagnosing failures and troubleshooting basic mechanical, electrical and pneumatic systems.
• Experienced with the use of computer-based systems such as maintenance log, inventory and work order systems.
• Experience with industrial 3 phase electrical systems and troubleshooting.
• Experience with disconnecting and reconnecting electrical equipment.
• Hydraulics experience, required.
• Excellent organizational and time management skills
