Golf Course Superintendent
Golf course in Berwick, Pennsylvania is looking for a Golf Course Superintendent.
Position Overview:
Manage the maintenance, care, and improvement of the golf course and related facilities, ensuring top-quality conditions. Reporting to the President of the Board of Directors, the Superintendent will lead staff, manage budgets, and coordinate operations.
Key Responsibilities:
• Oversee maintenance of the golf course, including greens, tees, fairways, and equipment.
• Maintain grounds near buildings, including flower beds, signs, and tees.
• Hire, train, and manage staff with Employer’s approval.
• Manage purchases and inventories within an approved budget.
• Assist in budget preparation and financial planning.
• Decide on course openings, closures, and golf cart usage based on weather.
• Prepare and present monthly reports to the Board of Directors.
• Collaborate with staff and contractors for tournaments and landscaping.
• Establish and maintain systems for grounds upkeep.
• Coordinate snow removal on club property.
• Ensure compliance with relevant licenses and regulations.
• Work flexible hours, including beyond 40 hours per week, as needed.
Requirements:
Proven experience in golf course maintenance or related field.
Strong leadership and team management skills.
Knowledge of turf management, irrigation, and golf course equipment.
Budget management and organizational skills.
Excellent communication and problem-solving abilities.
Valid licenses (e.g., pesticide applicator) preferred.
Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays.
Compensation:
$55,000 – $75,000 per year.
