Job Description

*JOB SUMMARY*

The job duties of the Fire Fighter/EMT include but are not limited to responding to alarms and other emergency calls to protect life and property; trains in and operates firefighting equipment, participates in fire prevention programs, including inspections, public education, hazardous materials, station maintenance, and training activities. Work varies requiring individual judgment within prescribed standards and procedures.

*Job Knowledge & Effectiveness*

· Effectively perform fire suppression and rescue work, along with ventilation, salvage and overhaul during structure fires.

· Administer basic life support confidently and effectively.

· Assume supervisory and ICS control on medical emergencies.

· Maintain and operate fire apparatus effectively.

· Maintain station and fire equipment properly.

· Assist with fire investigations routinely.

· Effectively maintain and operate airport rescue.

· Perform proper and effective fire prevention activities and inspections daily.

· Assume Fire Engineer position and responsibility frequently.

· Assist and attend training sessions regularly and apply knowledge in the field.

· Test city fire hydrants for flow and pressure.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $45,689.28 - $65,170.56 per year
