This position is responsible for designing and developing fire alarm systems. Their responsibilities revolve around performing research and analysis, utilizing feedback from customers and other experts, and coordinating with engineers and technicians. Furthermore, a fire alarm designer may design upgrades and enhancements and create testing structures.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
Follow all OSHA standards and laws.
Submit drawings for approval to AHJ.
Attend regular development meetings
Address limitations of technologies and materials involved in the CAD process
Make revisions to drawings as requested
Keep up to date on all modern advancement in material and software technologies
Pursue ongoing education in the field
Design of fire alarm drawings, as-built drawings.
Read and interpret architectural, structural and MEP drawings.
Perform other duties assigned by management.
Education/Qualification:
Minimum 2-year in related field (preferred)
At least 2 years of experience utilizing CAD software
Minimum 2 years working in a professional environment
Strong organizational skills
Excellent attention to detail
An abundance of patience to see a complicated project to the end
Ability to work alone on projects
Ability to work as a team to get complex projects completed
Valid Driver's License
Other Duties:

Performs other duties as assigned.
Physical Requirements:
Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
While performing the essential functions of this job the employee is regularly required to stand, walk, reach with hands or arms, stoop, kneel and is occasionally required to lift and/or move heavy objects.
