The Director, Sales Home Depot Entities (United States and Canada) leads and directs the sales team to achieve short and long-range strategic objectives through successful planning and execution of sales strategies for a channel. Responsible for the entire range of sales planning and development, sales promotion, and sales activities. Drives market/field/end user input back to the organization to improve positioning with programs, product development, and end user support. Major Responsibilities include driving market/field/end user input to improve positioning with programs, product development and end user support; establishing and implementing short- and long-range goals, objectives, policies, and operating procedures; achieving margin objectives by providing input on pricing strategy; tracking customer profitability, promotional allowances and terms; growing sales of existing and new products through strengthened account relationships; working cross-functionally to integrate market development strategies; establishing and maintaining critical industry contacts; planning and overseeing sales meetings, trade shows and site-visits; incorporating customer focused values and quality concepts; reviewing performance metrics and developing action plans; conducting monthly operational reviews; providing strategic and operational input to Product Development and Engineering; controlling budgets; designing and directing the work of the functional area; selecting, coaching, and developing the team; managing organizational talent; developing and managing sales and operating budgets; executing new innovation and products within the Home Depot Channels. Minimum requirements include a Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent, minimum of 5 years of experience supervising sales teams, 5 years of Home Depot experience, up to 50% travel and valid Driver’s License. Knowledge and skills required include understanding of internal processes and systems, business planning, budgeting, P&L skills, ability to work independently, advanced negotiation skills, complex account management skills, financial analysis, excellent communication and presentation skills, organizational skills, detail orientation, strategic and complex selling. Physical demands include regular talking, hearing, use of hands, standing, walking, occasional stooping, bending, reaching, lifting 25-50 pounds, and frequent computer-based work requiring sitting and close vision. Occasional travel is required.
