Job Description

We are seeking a highly experienced and strategic Director of Executive Protection Operations to lead and manage the planning, coordination, and execution of all executive protection operations for our C-suite and high-profile executives. This position does not provide direct close protection but instead oversees all logistical, operational, and administrative components of executive protection. This includes global travel coordination, advance planning, budget management, and strategic communication with cross-functional partners such as Chiefs of Staff, Executive Assistants, Corporate Travel, Legal, and Risk Management.

The ideal candidate is a trusted leader with deep operational expertise, exceptional discretion, and the ability to work effectively in fast-paced, confidential environments supporting high-level corporate leadership.

What you get to do in this role:
  • Lead and oversee all executive protection operations, with a focus on planning, logistics, intelligence coordination, and administrative support-not physical close protection.
  • Develop and maintain executive travel protocols, integrating intelligence-led risk assessments and "Pattern of Life" methodologies to identify deviations from normal routines or environments.
  • Coordinate and align executive travel planning with security protocols, executive schedules, and corporate policies.
  • Establish and manage protection budgets, vendor contracts, resource allocation, and operational reporting in coordination with finance and procurement teams.
  • Serve as the liaison between the executive protection team and internal stakeholders, including Chiefs of Staff, Executive Assistants, Legal, HR, Corporate Travel, and Facilities.
  • Monitor global threat landscapes and assess potential risks to executives during travel, special events, and day-to-day operations.
  • Ensure compliance with all applicable laws, regulations, and internal policies related to protective operations and firearms handling.
  • Maintain confidential and sensitive information with absolute discretion and integrity.
  • Provide strategic input and recommendations to improve executive protection operations and integrate with broader security and crisis management frameworks.
  • Mentor and provide operational direction to protection personnel and third-party vendors supporting executive protection.

Qualifications

To be successful in this role you have:
  • Operational & Tactical Expertise
  • In-depth understanding of "Pattern of Life" security concepts and ability to detect and act on behavioral or environmental anomalies.
  • Strong knowledge of executive protection tactics, surveillance detection, counter-surveillance, and emergency response protocols.
  • High proficiency in defensive tactics and firearms; able to interpret field risks and provide guidance on tactical readiness.
  • Experience developing SOPs and playbooks for high-risk and high-profile executive engagements.
  • Physical & Professional Standards
  • High level of physical fitness and stamina; must maintain a professional and service-oriented appearance and demeanor.
  • Ability to remain calm under pressure and exercise excellent judgment, discretion, and emotional intelligence in high-stress scenarios.
  • Superior interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills; able to tactfully engage, influence, and support executive stakeholders.
  • Proven ability to de-escalate conflicts and manage sensitive situations with discretion.
Required Certifications & Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in a related field or successful completion of a recognized Executive Protection Training Program.
  • Prior law enforcement, military, or corporate executive protection experience highly desirable.
  • Valid or ability to obtain:
    • California BSIS Guard Card
    • California BSIS Exposed Firearm Permit
  • Advanced defensive driving certification and clean driving record.
  • Medical certification (First Responder, EMT, 18D, Paramedic, or Navy Corpsman) highly preferred.
Preferred Skills & Traits:
  • Strategic thinker with a proactive mindset.
  • Experience managing third-party vendors and operational contracts.
  • Deep understanding of global security threats and corporate risk mitigation.
  • Experience using threat intelligence platforms and travel risk management tools.
  • Confidentiality and Integrity

This position operates at the highest levels of confidentiality and trust. The individual must demonstrate an exceptional commitment to protecting sensitive executive and company information, both operationally and culturally.
