The role involves managing and supervising delivery projects for professional services, ensuring adherence to timelines, budgets, and client requirements. It is a client-facing position focused on recommending and implementing software and consulting solutions, while leading project teams and fostering collaboration across various practice areas. The position requires strong project management skills, problem-solving abilities, and experience in managing medium-sized engagements to increase client satisfaction and project profitability.

RSM has an immediate opening for a Project Manager with deep interest and some experience in facilitating and implementing successful projects. This position is a client-facing role, which is responsible for reviewing the clients' business needs, and recommending and implementing software, management consulting and other solutions for RSM's clients. The project management oversight will enforce project timeline and budget adherence, resulting in increased client satisfaction, improved delivery and implementation practices and project profitability. The successful candidate must demonstrate willingness to go the extra mile for the team's success. He or she will be a problem solver, creative thinker, and fast learner, be detail-oriented and interested in learning RSM’s consulting business.

Responsibilities Include

  • Lead the delivery of small to medium-sized engagements valued between $250K–$800K
  • Develop and manage project plans, budgets, and schedules to align with client goals and expectations
  • Establish program governance structures to support effective decision-making and accountability
  • Manage project scope in accordance with Statements of Work (SOW) and maintain a Change Request Log
  • Monitor progress, manage risks, and communicate project impacts to clients and internal stakeholders
  • Direct and motivate project teams, fostering a positive and productive working environment
  • Identify and resolve project issues, escalating when necessary to ensure timely resolution
  • Communicate project expectations clearly and regularly to clients and consultants
  • Collaborate across RSM practice areas to deliver integrated solutions and uncover additional client opportunities
  • Provide mentoring and on-the-job coaching to team members, promoting professional growth and inclusion
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with clients and internal engagement teams
  • Support business development efforts by identifying new opportunities and contributing to proposal development

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree
  • 5+ years of experience in a Project Manager or relevant role
  • Strong conceptual, analytic and problem solving skills
  • Strong project and time management skills
  • Ability to work under pressure, meet deadlines, and work on multiple projects simultaneously
  • Must be a team player and be able to effectively interact with staff at all levels of the firm
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint
  • Ability to travel up to 10% of the time

Preferred Qualifications:

  • PMP or other relevant project management certifications
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Motivated to work in a fast-paced environment
  • Willingness to travel
  • Prior consulting experience

At RSM, an employee’s pay at any point in their career is intended to reflect their experiences, performance, and skills for their current role. The salary range (or starting rate for interns and associates) for this role represents numerous factors considered in the hiring decisions including, but not limited to, education, skills, work experience, certifications, location, etc. As such, pay for the successful candidate(s) could fall anywhere within the stated range.

Compensation Range: $95,400 - $192,000

Individuals selected for this role will be eligible for a discretionary bonus based on firm and individual performance.
