**Job Summary:**
As a Cook at The Sebastian - Vail, you will be responsible for preparing a variety of dishes while maintaining our high standards for food quality and safety. You will play a crucial role in creating memorable dining experiences for our guests. The ideal candidate will have a passion for cooking, a strong work ethic, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
**Key Responsibilities:**
- Prepare and cook menu items according to recipes and standards, ensuring high quality and consistency.
- Assist in the development and planning of menus, including daily specials and seasonal offerings.
- Maintain a clean and organized kitchen environment, following all health and safety guidelines.
- Monitor inventory levels and assist with ordering ingredients as needed.
- Collaborate with other kitchen staff to ensure timely and efficient service.
- Help train and mentor junior kitchen staff, promoting a positive team atmosphere.
- Ensure proper food storage and handling procedures are followed to maintain food safety.
- Stay current on culinary trends and techniques to enhance menu offerings.
- Address any guest feedback with professionalism and a commitment to customer satisfaction.
**Qualifications:**
- Proven experience as a Cook or in a similar role within a restaurant or food service environment.
- Culinary degree or relevant certification is preferred but not required.
- Strong knowledge of various cooking methods, ingredients, and kitchen equipment.
- Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent teamwork and communication skills.
- Strong attention to detail and a commitment to excellence.
- Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
