SmallHD– Who Are We
SmallHD designs and manufactures cutting-edge display products for both the independent filmmaker and cinema industry. Our monitors are used worldwide to consistently provide creative professionals with real-time confidence in their image. SmallHD is part of Videndum plc’s Creative Solutions division.
What will I be doing?
You will be responsible for SmallHD’s financial accounting, reporting and control, and will report to the division’s VP Finance. You will understand and explain the business’ performance, and challenge existing processes to drive improvements. We are looking for a proactive and detailed controller who will be a business partner, identify issues and implement change.
A typical day might include the following
Oversee all accounting operations for the SmallHD business.
Lead the month-end close process; maintain supporting schedules and records of monthly reconciliations and journal entries
Prepare and publish timely monthly financial accounts, reporting in the Group consolidation system
Support the weekly cash forecast process; manage and approve payments
Support the preparation of the budget and financial forecasts and report variances
Act as a business partner to SmallHD leadership; challenge and drive financial performance
Manage and comply with local, state, and federal government reporting requirements and tax filings
Respond to half-yearly external audit inquiries, and occasional internal audits
Ensure quality control over financial transactions and financial reporting
Research technical accounting issues for compliance
Develop and document processes to maintain and strengthen internal controls
Approve credit limits and customer terms
Manage team performance through planning, coaching and reviews
Qualified candidates must have
Proven working experience as a Financial Controller
8+ years of accounting and finance experience
Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting
CPA or CMA preferred
Thorough knowledge of accounting principles and procedures
Experience in high technology or manufacturing environments
Experience with general ledger functions and the month-end/year end close process
Experience working in a public company preferred
