Key Responsibilities:

Strategic Financial Leadership

  • Partner with the President/CEO and executive team to develop financial strategies that support organizational growth and stability.
  • Serve as a key advisor to finance, audit, and investment committees.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with investors, lenders, government agencies, and financial partners.

Financial Management & Reporting

  • Lead budgeting, accounting, and cash management processes to ensure accurate financial reporting and forecasting.
  • Manage annual audits and tax filings for the corporate entity and individual properties.
  • Prepare consolidated financial statements and oversee external audits and tax returns.
  • Implement and maintain internal controls to safeguard assets and improve financial procedures.
  • Monitor cash flow and capital needs across the multifamily portfolio.
  • Supervise the Accounting Team in daily operations including accounts payable/receivable, payroll, invoicing, and financial reporting.
  • Collaborate with the Director of Risk Management to manage insurance and liability policies.

Real Estate Development & Asset Management

  • Support acquisitions and development projects by reviewing financial structures, partnership agreements, and legal documents.
  • Oversee financing and loan closings involving LIHTC, Historic Tax Credits, New Markets Tax Credits, bond financing, and other public/private funding sources.
  • Coordinate funding requisitions and capital expenditure tracking with Regional Directors.
  • Ensure timely and accurate reporting to investors and government agencies, including equity draws and cost certifications.

Requirements:

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (CPA or MBA preferred).
  • 7–10 years of progressive financial leadership experience, preferably in multifamily housing or real estate.
  • Strong knowledge of GAAP, financial reporting, and audit practices.
  • Experience with affordable housing finance, tax credit programs, and real estate development.
  • Excellent leadership, analytical, and communication skills.
  • Proficiency in financial software and property management systems.
