Calvin University is looking for a dynamic, motivated individual to be a Community Living Support Graduate Assistant. In this position, you will work alongside students in the Life & Career Studies Program to help them meet their independent living goals. Student goals are predetermined by their Person-Centered Plan, expectations and goals vary per client. Goal categories include home maintenance, cooking, socialization, and personal safety. The Community Living Support Graduate Assistant will also be responsible for completing documentation paperwork after each shift. Community Living Support may be delivered in an individual or small-group setting. This position is a 32-week, part-time, live-in position. Hours for this position are flexible but will be consistent throughout the semester. Evening availability is required, must have reliable transportation and a good driving record, or be familiar with The Rapid bus system. Specific job duties include ensuring follow-through of the individual’s Person-Centered Plan (PCP), assisting, modeling, encouraging, and instructing to help the students achieve their goals, supporting students in reaching goals through productive and creative methods, documenting the student’s progress, training strategies, and new goals after each shift, and safely transporting the student when necessary, which may include using The Rapid bus system with the assigned student.
