Job Title: Commercial Print Estimator

Midstates Printing is seeking a full time Commerical Print Estimator at our facility located in Aberdeen, South Dakota. We are a family owned and operated Commercial Printing Business.

We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Commercial Print Estimator to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for preparing accurate cost estimates for commercial printing projects, ensuring that all specifications and requirements are met. This role requires strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to communicate effectively with clients and production teams.

Commercial Print Estimator Key Responsibilities:

- Analyze project specifications and requirements to prepare accurate cost estimates.

- Collaborate with sales and production teams to gather necessary information for estimates.

- Evaluate material costs, labor, and production timelines to provide comprehensive quotes.

- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of industry trends, pricing, and technology.

- Communicate with clients to clarify project details and provide exceptional customer service.

- Review and revise estimates as needed based on client feedback or project changes.

- Ensure all estimates are completed in a timely manner to meet project deadlines.

Commercial Print Estimator Skills and Qualifications:

- Proven experience as a print estimator or in a similar role within the commercial printing industry.

- Strong understanding of printing processes, materials, and equipment.

- Excellent analytical and mathematical skills.

- Proficient in estimating software and Microsoft Office Suite.

- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

- Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills.

Requirements:

Education and/or Experience

Bachelor’s degree in business or related field and 5 or more years’ experience and/or training in printing; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Language Skills

Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.

Mathematical Skills

Ability to apply basic math concepts (add, subtract, multiply, and divide). Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest and percentages. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra.

Reasoning Ability

Ability to apply common sense understanding to conduct instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.

Physical and Working Conditions

The job is performed in a manufacturing facility with exposure to large equipment, noise, and materials related to the printing process. The physical demands described below are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential duties of the job.
