Job Overview:

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Performance Coach to join our team. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience working with elite athletes, particularly in hockey, and possess a deep understanding of performance optimization, injury prevention, and recovery techniques. This role requires a passion for sports performance, a commitment to continuous learning, and the ability to tailor training programs to the unique needs of each athlete.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and implement individualized and sport-specific training programs for professional and amateur hockey players and other elite athletes.
  • Conduct thorough assessments to evaluate athletes’ physical abilities, movement patterns, and areas for improvement.
  • Collaborate with sports medicine professionals, nutritionists, and other team members to create comprehensive performance and recovery plans.
  • Monitor and analyze athletes’ progress, making adjustments to training programs as needed to ensure optimal performance.
  • Utilize the latest technology and methodologies in sports science to enhance training and recovery protocols.
  • Educate athletes on injury prevention strategies, proper nutrition, and recovery techniques.
  • Maintain detailed records of athletes’ training sessions, progress, and outcomes.
  • Foster a positive and motivating environment that supports athletes’ mental and physical well-being.
  • Stay current with the latest research, trends, and innovations in sports performance and recovery.
  • Participate in team meetings, staff development sessions, and community outreach programs.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Exercise Science, Kinesiology, Sports Medicine, or a related field (Master’s degree preferred).
  • Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS) or equivalent certification.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience working with elite athletes, with a strong preference for experience in hockey.
  • Proven track record of designing and implementing successful performance training programs.
  • Strong understanding of sports science, biomechanics, and human physiology.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport with athletes and colleagues.
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends, to accommodate athletes’ schedules.
  • Passion for continuous learning and professional development.
