Occupational Summary This position classification will be used by the Duke University Athletic Association to distinguish coaches for club sports.
Work Performed
Typical duties will include teaching technical skills, coaching the sport during practices and competitions, and preparing club members to participate in the sport.
Ensure all club participants are compliant with Sport Club risk management requirements and possess the ability to understand and implement provided risk mitigation strategies.
Attend an annual training to learn about Duke University and Sport Club policy and procedure and ensure compliance of Duke University and Sport Clubs procedures.
Counsel and advise Sport Club officers on the direction and operations of the club and provide opportunities for leadership and personal growth and development of club participants.
Provide a welcoming and inclusive environment for participants of all skill levels, backgrounds, and identity groups.
Possess a valid American Red Cross CPR/AED/First Aid certification or have the ability to obtain one within 30 days of employment.
