Job Description

My client produces innovative large-scale events, industry insights, and digital content to the Sciences industry. As part of their US expansion, a new role has been created for a commercial CEO who will be entrusted with steering the company through its strategic, commercial, and innovative endeavours. Your leadership will be pivotal in shaping the long-term US strategy, fostering a culture of innovation, and leading the company's expansion in the US markets.

Responsibilities:

  • Strategic and Commercial Leadership:
  • Formulate and execute high-quality business strategies and plans that align with both short-term and long-term objectives.
  • Spearhead commercial strategies to drive accelerated growth in the US, focusing on expanding market presence and enhancing profitability across our brands through sponsorship and advertising revenue.
  • Inspire and empower the US team to foster employee engagement and professional development. Establish and cultivate a strong US management and leadership team, overseeing direct management of VPs in Sales & Business Development.

US Market Expansion and Stakeholder Engagement:

  • Cultivate connections with prospective sponsors and partners to boost revenue streams and broaden the company's clientele.
  • Analyze trends and advancements in the US market, crafting strategies to enhance company growth and ensure stability.
  • Actively participate in industry events or associations to develop leadership skills and enhance the company's potential for success.
  • Oversee the budget for the US office, including revenue forecasts, expense management, and profitability analysis.
  • Monitor financial performance against targets and make strategic decisions to optimize financial outcomes.

Qualifications:

  • Proven track record in executive leadership, ideally as a CEO or VP or in a similar senior managerial capacity, particularly within the conferences/events services sector. Strong emphasis on driving commercial strategy and expanding business in the US market.
  • Over 10 years of experience leading commercial sales efforts and selling in large-scale events, exhibitions, and digital content, with a focus on maximizing revenue opportunities.

Location: Boston, MA and hybrid (3 days in the office and 2 days from home).

Job Type: Full-time (37.5 hours a week, Monday to Friday).

Domestic travel and moderate international travel to the UK office may be required.

Job Salary Range: £35,000 - £35,000 Per Year.
