Job Responsibilities

Under direction, does rough, finished and general carpentry work; performs related work, including but not limited to:

• Rough framing and finish carpentry utilizing a variety of materials and tools
• Install wooden structures such as roofing frames, rafters, partitions, joists and stud work, ceilings.
• Installs, repairs, and replaces flooring, partitions, window frames and sashes, door frames and doors, and other related components of buildings and structures.
• Installs, repairs and replaces boardwalks, fences and screens.
• Drywall installation and taping
• Installing cabinets, shelving, drywall and insulation
• Adding fixtures and fittings such as door handles, locks, hinges and closures.
• Perform tasks requiring repeated heavy lifting, standing, walking, kneeling, stooping and squatting.
• Coordinate materials and support from other departments
• Routinely utilize independent judgment and discretion to identify potential issues and solve problems.
• Proactively identify any unsafe conditions, hazards, or Code violations and communicate them effectively.

Job Skills & Qualifications

Required:

• Ability to perform a variety of physical tasks
• Ability to lift up to 80 pounds and standing for numerous hours
• Previous experience working on construction sites
• Knowledge of basic power tools
• Understanding of and willingness to abide by all safety protocols
• Ability to pass a drug/background check
• Valid driver’s license
• High School Education or equivalent

Preferred:

• OSHA 10 or 30 certification
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints, design drawings, specification & diagrams a plus.
