Business Unit/Role Speciffic Info

The Global Risk & Compliance Organization (“GRC”) independently oversee the company’s risk-taking and risk management activities, including the comprehensive identification, management, and mitigation of risks within the Company’s risk appetite. GRC ensures the company operates in a safe, sound and fully compliant manner within all applicable regulatory expectations. We create and maintain the overall risk management framework while ensuring legal and regulatory compliance.

How Will You Make an Impact in This Role?

Global Risk and Compliance is comprised of various organizations. This role pertains to:

• Credit and Model Risk Oversight, Transaction Monitoring & Risk Capabilities: provides independent challenge and ensures that significant Credit and Model risks are properly evaluated and monitored , and Anti-Money Laundering (AML) risks are mitigated through the transaction monitoring program. In addition, CMRC hosts the central product organization responsible for the ongoing maintenance and modernization of GRC platforms and capabilities.

Skills/Experience

• Minimum 0-3 years of experience in risk management activities across financial services
• Strong business acumen with a risk-reward control perspective;
• Experience in data-driven analytics, including analyzing structured and unstructured data;
• Familiarity with applicable regulatory requirements;
• Demonstrated experience building, sustaining and leveraging relationships
• Strong work ethic, organizational skills and attention to detail with excellent follow-up skills
• Demonstrated willingness to take initiative and act decisively
• Ability to think strategically and influence teammates on multiple, cross-functional teams
• Positive, can-do attitude embracing Growth Mindset
• Project management skills with the ability to prioritize and multitask
• Strong written and oral communication skills
• Ability to organize, manage, analyze, and interpret large amounts of data to identify trends and themes
• Proven ability to translate highly technical and complex information into easily understandable terms
• Superior Microsoft Office skills with emphasis on Excel and PowerPoint
• Knowledge of advance programming languages such as Python, SAS etc. is a plus.
• Advanced degree or equivalent experience in quantitative or a related field
• Strong interest in risk management related activities or experience in financial services

Minimum Qualifications

• Currently enrolled in full-time master’s or Juris Doctor degree program
• Students must have a graduation date between December 2025 and June 2026

Preferred Qualifications

• Minimum 0-3 years’ experience in Risk Management or related activities across financial services
• Understanding and knowledge of bank laws and regulations, relevant regulatory requirements, U.S. Bank systems and processes as well as related governance activities
• Knowledge of relevant regulatory requirements, preferably relating to regulated financial institutions and / or consumer products and AML/ Anti-Corruption/BSA
• Experience with audit, risk, regulatory management, law, marketing and product management, finance, technologies or control related functions

Salary Range: $38.45 to $87.00 hourly + sign-on bonus

The above represents the expected salary range for this job requisition. Ultimately, in determining your pay, we’ll consider your location, experience, and other job-related factors.

Depending on factors such as business unit requirements, the nature of the position, cost and applicable laws, American Express may provide visa sponsorship for certain positions.
