DOT Driver

Job Description:

This is a Full-Time or Part-Time Lead/Box Truck Driver position with JNJ Delivery LLC an Amazon Delivery Service Partner. In this role you will load and transport Amazon packages from a Delivery Station in Carteret, NJ to a designated location in Manhattan. You will be working with a team of Walker Delivery Associates to deliver all packages on the truck.

• Military veterans are welcome! This is a veteran owned business.
• Commercial, DOT, CDL (or work-related) driving experience is a plus , but not mandatory
• As we grow, supervisory roles will be available

Benefits & Scheduling:

• Starting at $21.50 / hour (paid weekly)
• Paid DOT certification
• 10 - 11 hour shifts are typical
• 4-day workweek (~40 hours) is typical, with possible overtime
• One weekend day off, must work one weekend day
• Daytime shift, you will be home at night
• A minimum of 2 paid 15-minute breaks during your shift and 1 unpaid 30-minute meal break

Key Duties & Responsibilities:

• Safely drive and perform safety inspections on Company vehicle
• Follow all local & state laws, road/driving regulations, and Company policies
• Provide excellent communication and guidance to Walker Delivery Associates despite stressful events / conditions
• Keep pace in a physically demanding job; work in all weather conditions; lift packages (up to 50 lbs.); get in and out of a box truck repeatedly throughout the day with or without reasonable accommodation.
• Communicate effectively with support team, leadership, and Walker Delivery Associates to provide exceptional customer service and ensure deliveries are completed
• Use smart phone device for GPS Navigation, scanning packages, conducting administrative requirements such as clocking in/out, and communicate with supervisors and other team members
• Load and unload packages in a box truck
• Support the team in daily work requirements including assisting Walker Delivery Associates complete their routes through coaching and guidance

Requirements:

• Must be at least 21 years old
• Must hold a non-provisional, unrestricted driver's license
• Authorized to work in the United States
• Must pass a 4-Panel Drug Screening (which does not include pre-employment testing for marijuana)
• Must have a clean motor vehicle report (multiple violations can disqualify you from the position)
• Must have good English speaking, reading, writing / communication skills

HIRING PROCESS takes approximately 2-4 WEEKS to complete . It may take longer if you have an out-of-state driver's license.
